Sproodle Breed Summary
Affectionate, Well-Tempered, Loving and Charming
Sproodles are a hybrid breed and are a cross between either a Standard or Miniature Poodle and an English Springer Spaniel. They first appeared during the 1980's as a response to a need for a doggy who was low shedding and thus suitable for individuals with allergies!
Nowadays, they are a very popular breed with a large following across the UK and other parts of the world as well! They are not yet a registered breed by the Kennel Club, but at the end of the day, when you've got a happy little face in front of you, wanting to play, does it really matter?

These doggies are incredibly charming guys and are extremely affectionate towards 'hoomans' as well. They are extremely well-tempered and highly intelligent, making them fantastic dogs to train skills and new tricks! Sproodle's loving ways also make them a great dog to have around kids. However, these guys are very high-energy and need to be placed in a family that already has an active lifestyle. It's also vital to train these doggies so that they know who's in charge, especially if you have other dogs! They like to know where they sit in the pack and if they aren't given a place they will pursue a role as the alpha dog! Overall though, they make fantastic family pets and will provide you with years of entertainment and love.
The Sproodle is a relatively new cross-breed and first appeared in the 1980's as a response to producing a dog that was highly intelligent with a low shedding coat and is a mix between a Poodle and a Springer Spaniel. They have since become a very popular breed, with their biggest fans being based here in the UK. Although not yet recognised by The Kennel Club, many breed clubs have been set up, with the aim of one day ensuring that they become a registered breed! Because of their inherited characteristics, many of these doggies are now working as therapy dogs.
