These little cuties personalities can differ from dog-to-dog as some will develop more traits from one parent than another. However, it's thought that they are very friendly dogs who absolutely love 'hoomans' owners, family, strangers, the lot! Additionally, these guys are very intelligent dogs and thus easy to train. For these reasons, they are perfect for first time owners as they are easier to handle and look after than other breeds. They love to be the center of attention and make great friends for children as they love to run around and join in with whatever game maybe being played. Additionally, their high energy means they will need plenty of walks and exercise, meaning they may suit a family more so who already lead a fairly active lifestyle. Overall though, they make lovely family pets who have the potential to provide you with years of happiness and fun!
A relatively new 'designer' cross breed, the Golden Dox is thought to have been developed over the last ten or twenty years. They were created as a response to 'hoomans' wanting a dog that was more unique than other breeds, possessing distinctive physical characteristics. The Golden Dox is a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Dachshund and it's also claimed, although not proved, that cross breeds are hypo-allergenic and prone to fewer health issues. However, as a new breed, pups will vary from litter to litter with very different physical and mental traits. For example, some may look more Retriever-like in physical appearance, whereas others maybe more stubborn, in likeness to their parent, the Dachshund.
