These dogs are a cross between a Border Collie and a Jack Russell Terrier and originated out of American in the last few decades. Though, considering the history of the parent breeds, it's no surprise that they are extremely active and love to take part in sports.
Additionally, they are extremely loyal and devoted dogs and will do all that they can to protect their 'hoomans'. They are also very playful and love to take part in games, so if you have children, they make perfect pets!
Fun Fact: They absolutely love to run, so if you're a keen runner, we think you should consider taking your pup along!

A mixture of both their parents, the Border Jack is a highly intelligent breed. Because of this they are relatively easy to train various skills and tricks. However, this paired with their energetic nature can make them hard to handle for some owners and can lead to them getting over-excited or hyper - especially problematic for those that haven't dealt with similar breeds before! Their courageous mindset means that they can sometimes be aggressive towards other dogs and small animals due to their hunting temperament but with the right level of socialization and training, this can be easily sorted out.
The Border Jack was developed over the last few decades in the States, but the exact origin of the breed is unknown. They are a cross between a Border Collie and a Jack Russell, with the later having origins tracing back to the first century! It's thought that the reason for creating this breed was in order produce a dog that was fast and agile enough to perform extremely well in sports, a perfect combination of the parent breeds qualities! Although, they will vary in size and physical appearance from puppy to puppy as the cross-breed is relatively new and breed standards have not been set.
