Jackapoo Breed Summary

These little guys are a relatively new hybrid crossbreed and for this reason, are not recognised by the Kennel Club yet. They were developed by crossing a Jack Russell Terrier with a Poodle and possess traits from both parent breeds. However, the traits that they develop will vary from pup to pup.
They are a fantastic choice for first time owners due to the fact they are very intelligent and eager to please, which in turn means that they are easy to train! They are also very playful and good around children, meaning they make lovely pets for most families!
Fun Fact: They are well-known for being calm and gentle meaning they are also good for elderly owners as well!

These dogs are well known for making very good companion dogs, due to their loving and happy natures. They absolutely love 'hoomans', which includes children! And could also potentially get on well with other dogs as well, so long as they are socialised from a young age. They are also a very adaptable breed, and because of their small size, are suitable for apartment or small home living, so long as they are given the right amount of exercise. One thing to bear in mind is that they do have terrier in them and normally suit a family who has experience with other terrier breeds as they can sometimes be difficult to live with if not trained correctly! But their loyal and loving natures make them a fantastic family dog, with the potential to provide you with years of happiness and love!
These little dogs are thought to have first appeared around twenty years ago as a result of crossing the two pedigrees; the Jack Russell and the Miniature or Toy Poodle. As they are a relatively new breed, characteristics and traits can vary from puppy to puppy, meaning some will look and act very differently to others! They are often discussed as being a 'designer' crossbreed and although not recognised by the Kennel Club, they are generally a very healthy dog, so long as they are bred responsibly.
