These dogs are well-known for being both extremely intelligent and energetic in nature! Because of this, they make excellent pets and are fairly easy to train up, especially as they are very eager to please. These sunshine dogs are one of the newest crossbreeds, having most probably been developed over the last 20-30 years! They are a cross between a Poodle and Golden Retriever, with the idea being to create a dog that is hypoallergenic, and thus suitable for 'hoomans' with allergies. This paired with the fact that they are very intelligent and affectionate means they make ideal pets for a large variety of families. Additionally, the breed also makes an excellent choice for an assistance dog, for those who may be disabled or otherwise impaired. It's thought that their name came from an American Family called the Neelands in 1992, after telling their friends that their dog was a Goldendoodle and opposed to a Labradoodle. They have since become very popular over the last few years, especially in Australia!
