Bernedoodles tend to be highly intelligent, hardworking when necessary, loyal, and just a bit goofy!

Providing they've been socialised from a young age, this pooch is gentle around children and the elderly and make excellent therapy dogs as they're easy to train, very intelligent and love to work. This affectionate dog needs a lot of human interaction, so they shouldn’t be left alone for too long. Be sure to give them plenty of cuddles!

Bernese Mountain Dogs tend to be stubborn at times, and Bernedoodles may inherit some of this stubbornness! This is often most apparent during training. However, the stubbornness tends to fade as the pooch gets older. They pick up on commands very quickly due to their high intelligence.

As a hybrid breed, the Bernedoodle tends to get the best personality traits from their two parent breeds. They exhibit intelligence with a side of goofiness that can create some pretty entertaining interactions!

If you’re looking for a fluffy companion dog in your life, then a Bernedoodle might just be the pawfect dog for you! Also known as the Bernese Mountain Poo, this dog is a combination of the Bernese Mountain dog breed and the Poodle. These hybrid dogs have been in existence for many years, but the first breeder is known to be Sherry Rupke, who bred the first littler of Bernedoodles in 2003.

Sherry first began breeding Golden Labradoodles and Bernese Mountain Dogs separately, and while she was satisfied with the healthy Labradoodles coming out of her breeding program, she noticed the tragically short life spans of her Bernese Mountain Dogs. These purebreds are often plagued with a variety of genetic health disorders, and Sherry’s pups were no exception.

This is when Sherry had the furbulous idea to breed the Bernese Mountain Dog with the Poodle! The result? A healthy, super adorable little of Bernedoodle puppies. Today, Bernedoodles are becoming popular all over the world and we’re not surprised!
