These doggies are fun-loving and great make pets for families with kids as they love to play games. They also get along great with other doggies as well and potentially may even get on with friendly cats! However, they do have very loud barks and they enjoy barking a lot (thanks to their Beagle inheritance…), so it's probably best that owners of Puggles don't live in apartments or houses with neighbors too close by. They also aren't that easy to train and will require a very patient owner, willing to put in the extra work to make training time fun! This breed is also pretty active, so they're going to need at least 30 minutes of walkies and exercise per day to keep them from getting over-weight and bored. But with the right family, you're sure to have many happy years of love with each other!

The Puggle is a cross between a Pug and a Beagle. This hybrid resulted from the breeding of these two dogs in the United States, by a Wisconsin citizen named Wallace Havens in the 1980s. He coined the name Puggle, and was the first to register the crossbreed with the American Canine Hybrid Club. Puggles can only be bred from a male Pug and female Beagle, as breeding female Pugs from male Beagles results in puppies too large for the female to whelp.

As can be seen from the vital statistics, Puggles can vary enormously in height and weight. Breed enthusiasts are working to create a breed standard, through breeding Puggles together, and hope that Kennel Clubs will recognize this hybrid as a breed in its own right.
