These dogs are known for their charming and playful personalities. They normally don't mature until quite late, meaning they have puppy traits for at least a year and a half! They are high-spirited and very intelligent, which paired with their fantastic memory makes them fairly easy to train. They form very strong bonds with their owners, and their wariness of strangers and alertness makes them fantastic watch dogs. They are a very energetic breed and need plenty of exercise. For this reason, they best suit a family who already live an active lifestyle that a dog could easily slot into. In the waning days of the Roman Empire, the Huns were among the tribes of Asian invaders who spilled into central Europe. It’s believed that Polish Lowland Sheepdogs are the result of breeding Hunnic dogs with native stock in the region now known as Poland. They were bred to be levelheaded flock dogs by day and fearless guard dogs by night. In the 1500s, traders brought this dog to Scotland, where it’s thought they became a piece of the genetic puzzle that formed the Bearded Collie.
