Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen Breed Summary
Affectionate, Enthusiastic, Happy, Alert and Loyal
These dogs have a fairly rough appearance with very distinctive long mustaches and eyebrows! They are normally around 13-15 inches tall and their bodies are normally longer than they are tall. It is thought that originally they were bred to hunt small animals, such as rabbits.
They also have lovely personalities and are a very happy, friendly, energetic and intelligent breed. This means that they make really lovely family pets. Additionally, they also get on very well with children and potentially other animals as well!
Fun Fact: These guys are often referred to as the 'Happy Breed'.

PBGVs are very well known and affectionately referred to as the 'happy breed'. They have a true love for life and their enthusiasm makes them lovely, little family pets. They are relatively energetic and will need to be in a family that enjoys an active lifestyle! They are intelligent but require lots of training and socialization as they can be fairly stubborn. Additionally, they make very good watchdogs as they are alert and will tell their hoomans if anything unusual happens. Just bear in mind that these guys are prone to try and escape, so make sure you have a secure garden! Overall though, they make lovely family pets and have the ability to provide you with lots of years of happiness.
