These dogs are a native breed to the UK, and were initially bred to work with Foxhounds. Nowadays though, they are better known for making lovely family pets as they have kind and devoted personalities.
They are well known for their extremely high energy, so do best in a larger home where they have plenty of space to run around! Additionally, they do better with a family who already lead active lives.
Fun Fact: They make fantastic therapy dogs due to their affectionate natures!

These dogs are known for their fantastic temperament. They are full of joy and love to be around their humans as much as possible. They make fantastic pets for families with children as they love to be involved with games. They are also a very intelligent breed, meaning they are easier to train than other dogs, however, their brainy capabilities may not always work in your favor. If you let them take an inch, they can become very stubborn and take a mile! It’s therefore vital you let these little guys know who’s in charge and they need to be given rules and limitations to stop them taking over! Without this it will lead to them developing ‘little dog syndrome’ – behaviors you definitely don’t want your dog to develop! For an owner with an experienced understanding of this breed, they make fantastic pets! Just make sure they got lots of exercise and walkies to keep them fit and healthy.
